RE/MAX Fifth Avenue believes that the Olympic Listing Service (Locally Broker owned, operated & not-for-profit) is the best solution for our area, so Realtors® that know the issues and complexities unique to Clallam County will assist the Buyer & Sellers with properties here. Typically approximately 2% of sales in the past 5 years have come from outside our MLS. Since some local offices have joined NWMLS in the past 3 years, that number has fluctuated about .5%. If you were a Buyer moving to Sequim, would you select a Seattle agent to represent you? Of course not! Would you search for Sequim info on a Seattle web site? I think not! Having representation in the NWMLS allows 30,000 real estate agents (more than 1/3 are NOT Realtors®) that we know nothing about and that know nothing about our area, free access to your home. I market on Realtor.com and RE/MAX.com, the premier sites for Buyers, and then that information is disseminated to multiple other smaller sites. I find that most Buyers start their search online, then come to Sequim and work with a local agent. Being on the NWMLS does nothing to enhance business, and I choose not to be part of it.
